About the role#
This internship position is based in the Nuclear Power Group for the summer of 2027. You will join a project team to support the design and modification of power plant and industrial facility systems. Working under the guidance of senior engineers, you will apply your academic knowledge to real-world engineering challenges.
What you'll do#
- Support the engineering team with project execution tasks.
- Prepare engineering calculations, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Track and evaluate project activities, progress, and data for reporting purposes.
- Solve engineering problems by using modern tools, including automation and AI, to improve workflows and design efficiency.
- Use programming or scripting languages like Python or MATLAB to automate calculations and reporting (valued but not required).
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering.
- Strong academic foundation in mechanical systems analysis, specifically thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, or heat transfer.
- Proficiency with MS Office applications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Prior internship or co-op experience is valued but not required.
- Enrollment in an ABET-accredited engineering program is preferred.
