About the role#
As a Mechanical Engineering Intern in our Nuclear Power Group, you will join a project team to support the design and modification of power plant systems. You will work under the direction of senior engineers to gain practical experience in nuclear engineering. This is a full-time, paid internship scheduled for Summer 2027.
What you'll do#
- Assist engineering team members with project execution, including the preparation of calculations, drawings, and specifications.
- Track and evaluate project activities, progress, and associated data.
- Solve engineering problems using modern tools, including automation and AI.
- Draft design documentation and verify results using sound engineering judgment.
- Use programming or scripting languages like Python, MATLAB, or advanced Excel to automate calculations and reporting.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering.
- Completed coursework in mechanical systems analysis, such as thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, or heat transfer.
- Proficiency with MS Office applications.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
