About the role#
Saab is hiring a Mechanical Engineering student for a paid Co-Op position during the Summer of 2027. This role is based in East Syracuse, New York. You will work on-site and participate in hardware development for Radar systems.
What you'll do#
- Design and develop models and drawings for Radar systems alongside senior engineers.
- Assist in creating thermal and structural analysis reports.
- Participate in design reviews and internal technical meetings.
- Coordinate with your mechanical lead to plan and schedule your daily tasks.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited Mechanical Engineering degree program or a related field.
- Completion of your Sophomore year by the time of hire.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- A willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
- U.S. citizenship is required, and you must be able to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
- Familiarity with Solidworks is desired, and prior Co-Op experience is a plus.

- Location: East Syracuse, New York.
- Term: Summer 2027 (May through August).
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Employment Type: Full-time.
- Compensation: $20.27 to $22.30 per hour, plus a sign-on bonus for those living outside the commuting distance. Candidates must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
