    About the role#

    Saab is seeking a Software Engineering Co-Op for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid position based on-site in East Syracuse, New York. You will work alongside senior engineers to gain hands-on experience in radar system development.

    What you'll do#

    • Contribute to software development for radar systems.
    • Design and develop modular, configurable software with senior engineering guidance.
    • Attend internal technical meetings and design reviews.
    • Coordinate with your software lead to plan and schedule your daily tasks.

    What you'll need#

    • Enrollment in an accredited degree program for Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.
    • Completion of your sophomore year by the start of the internship.
    • A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
    • Proficiency in Java or C++ and experience with object-oriented programming.
    • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
    • U.S. citizenship is required, and you must be eligible to obtain a security clearance.
    • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen.

    It is preferred that you have prior co-op experience. We also value familiarity with Linux environments, UML modeling tools, unit test frameworks, and Subversion (SVN) for configuration management.

    • Location: East Syracuse, New York.
    • Term: Summer 2027.
    • Modality: On-site.
    • Compensation: $20.27 to $22.30 per hour, plus a sign-on bonus for those living outside the local commuting distance.
