About the role#
We are looking for a Software Development Intern to join our engineering team in Troy, Michigan. This position offers hands-on experience working alongside experienced developers on real-world projects. You will apply your academic knowledge to professional software development tasks.
What you'll do#
- Assist in developing, testing, and debugging software applications.
- Collaborate with team members on coding projects and feature implementation.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical discussions.
- Help maintain and improve existing codebases.
- Document code and development processes.
- Support quality assurance testing.
- Attend team meetings and contribute ideas.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Basic knowledge of at least one programming language, such as Java, Python, JavaScript, C, or C# (C is preferred).
- Understanding of fundamental programming concepts, data structures, and object-oriented programming principles.
- Familiarity with version control systems, preferably Git.
- Experience with firmware development using microcontrollers (C, C++) and embedded systems.
- Knowledge of software development methodologies like Agile or Scrum.
- Previous project experience, whether academic, personal, or professional.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Eagerness to learn new technologies.
