About the role#
Saab is seeking a Quality Engineer Intern for our advanced manufacturing operation in West Lafayette, Indiana. This full-time, paid internship takes place during the summer of 2027. You will work on-site to assist our team in developing our quality function while gaining hands-on experience in the defense and space manufacturing industry.
What you'll do#
- Complete a designated internship project that provides value to our operations.
- Partner with an assigned mentor for feedback and project direction.
- Assist in the implementation and execution of Quality Management System principles.
- Support process development by integrating quality policy into daily procedures.
- Monitor assembly cycles and perform regular tests and inspections to identify non-conformances.
- Analyze risk and assist with the creation of risk mitigation plans.
- Perform root cause analysis and systemic problem solving.
- Participate in internal audits to ensure process maturity and compliance.
- Champion company values of Trust, Drive, Expertise, and Support.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a bachelor's degree program in Engineering, Quality, Business Management, or a similar field.
- Completion of your freshman year by the hire date.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better.
- Coursework or previous experience with Quality Systems, testing, and inspection methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and team-building experience.
- Ability to be self-driven and produce high-quality work.
- Must be a U.S. citizen, Permanent Resident, or protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
