About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship position for Summer 2027 based in Huntsville, Alabama. You will join the Mechanical Analysis and Test Department to work alongside a senior engineer on thermal analysis tasks. This role requires you to work on-site.
What you'll do#
- Perform hand calculations to determine requirements for detailed analysis.
- Solve complex thermal problems using detailed analysis methods.
- Conduct peer reviews of all analysis to validate processes and results.
- Deliver findings to customers.
- Create detailed, archival technical reports.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Advanced STEM degree program, with at least 60 credit hours completed by the start of the internship.
- Experience with Finite Element Analysis tools like ANSYS Workbench, Patran, Nastran, or Thermal Desktop.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance, as U.S. citizenship is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with CAD tools such as CREO.
- A data-driven approach to problem solving.
