About the role#
This internship focuses on Systems and Software engineering for Flight Management Systems. You will work on software features integrated into military helicopters and planes. This is a full-time, paid position based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. We are looking for students available for the Winter 2027 or Summer 2027 terms.
What you'll do#
- Design, develop, and test software features for flight management systems.
- Collaborate with Systems and Software engineers on complex technical problems.
- Use communication and coordination skills to deliver products to internal and external customers.
- Gain practical knowledge of Systems Engineering and avionics.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree program in Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering.
- Active student status through the end of the internship.
- Proficiency in C, C++, ADA, or Python.
- Ability to draft System or Software requirements.
- Experience with pilot activities, aircraft maintenance, or DO-178 certification is a plus.
- Must be a U.S. Person as defined by federal regulations.

- Location: Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
- Work Modality: This is an on-site position. Employees are expected to work from the office daily.
