About the role#
This is a full-time Software Engineering internship for the Summer 2027 term. You will join the Crypto Software Engineering team in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. This position is on-site. Please note that U.S. citizenship is required to obtain the necessary Secret security clearance.
What you'll do#
- Contribute to the full software development life cycle within an agile team.
- Develop and test embedded software for security applications.
- Collaborate with software and system engineers to meet customer needs.
- Support requirement generation, software implementation, test case development, and verification.
- Integrate multi-threaded C and C++ code bases.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a Bachelor or Advanced degree program in a STEM field.
- Completion of at least 60 credit hours by the start of the internship.
- Proficiency in C++ or Python.
- Knowledge of Object Oriented design and TCP/IP network applications.
- Familiarity with Linux and Windows operating systems.
- Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Prior internship or work experience at RTX is a plus.
