About the role#
As a Software Engineering Intern at Raytheon Technologies, you will join our Tactical Communications team for a full-time summer internship. You will work on software-defined tactical radio platforms, networking solutions, and cryptographic systems. This role is based on-site in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
What you'll do#
- Develop embedded software, networking, and communication products using C/C++, Rust, and Python.
- Support the full software development lifecycle, including requirements, design, implementation, test development, and verification.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to support new software initiatives.
- Assist in making technical decisions that impact team performance and project schedules.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering.
- Actively enrolled through the completion of the internship session.
- Minimum of 60 credit hours completed by the start of the internship.
- U.S. citizenship is required to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.
- Ability to obtain or hold an active U.S. Department of Defense secret clearance.
- Experience with C/C++, Rust, or Python.
- Familiarity with Linux development environments, Git, and embedded software development.
- Prior internship or work experience at RTX is a plus.
