About the role#
The Effector Analog & Power team seeks an intern to assist in the design of power systems. You will contribute to the development of telemetry, flight termination products, servo electronics, and mixed signal interfaces. This role involves working on products that generally operate at power levels below 10kW and voltages under 1000V.
What you'll do#
- Design, analyze, simulate, test, and document power conversion and analog circuitry, focusing on board-mounted applications.
- Manage circuit card development from initial requirements through integration testing.
- Guide ECAD drafters through layout and routing activities.
- Function as an individual contributor while engaging in personal technical growth.
- Present your work to functional and program leadership.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree program in Electrical Engineering or a related STEM major, with at least 60 credit hours completed by the start date.
- Experience with design, analysis, testing, or simulation of non-isolated converter topologies like buck, boost, or buck-boost.
- Familiarity with tools such as MATLAB, MathCAD, or Mathematica.
- Coursework in analog electronics, including FETs, BJTs, op-amps, filters, clock/data termination, or comparator circuits.
- Ability to obtain an interim U.S. government Secret security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship based on-site in Tucson, Arizona.
- The position follows a rolling schedule.
