About the role#
The Rotary Wing Cargo Systems team is seeking a Platform Systems Engineering Co-op for the Winter and Summer 2027 terms. You will support the CH-47F Chinook helicopter flight deck program. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. U.S. citizenship is required for this role.
What you'll do#
- Contribute to avionics engineering tasks involving the design, development, integration, and testing of platform and software applications.
- Learn to capture requirements and conduct peer reviews for cockpit avionics.
- Decompose and allocate requirements to specific domains.
- Create test procedures to verify system requirements.
- Perform requirements-based testing, robustness testing, and ad-hoc testing in a lab environment.
- Work within an Agile development team alongside professional engineers.
What you'll need#
- A High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or advanced degree program in Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering, or another STEM major.
- Active enrollment status through the completion of the co-op session.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
- Basic experience with DOORS, JAMA, JIRA, and the ALM tool suite.
- Knowledge of requirements capture, configuration management, and verification and validation testing.
- Experience working within an aerospace engineering development environment is preferred.
