About the role#
As a Mechanical Engineering Co-op, you will join the Strategic Defense Solutions group in Richardson, Texas. You will contribute to the design, development, and testing of electronic equipment and integration kits for communication systems used on military aircraft and transportable platforms. This is a full-time, on-site position for the Winter 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Apply research to the planning, design, and testing of mechanical and electromechanical systems.
- Create models for components, parts, subassemblies, and assemblies.
- Execute tests for systems and components while analyzing results against design specifications.
- Collaborate with mechanical, systems, electrical, and manufacturing engineering staff.
- Document all development, analysis, and test data throughout the product lifecycle.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or Advanced degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related STEM field.
- Completion of at least 60 credit hours by the start of the session.
- Experience with Solidworks or similar 3D CAD software.
- Experience with ANSYS or other mechanical analysis software.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government Secret security clearance (U.S. citizenship is required).
