About the role#
As a Mechanical Engineering Intern, you will join our team in Burnsville, Minnesota, for the Summer 2027 term. You will work on-site to support the design, testing, and troubleshooting of sensors for the aviation industry. This full-time position requires U.S. citizenship to access program information.
What you'll do#
- Participate in the design, testing, and troubleshooting of various sensor types.
- Support the development and fabrication of sensor systems.
- Perform tolerance analyses on components and assemblies to ensure proper fit and function.
- Use CAD solid modeling techniques to create component and assembly models and drawings.
- Write test requests to support design verification and analyze the resulting test data.
- Investigate existing products to suggest design improvements and update documentation.
- Specify material joining methods, including welding and brazing processes.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree program for Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related STEM major.
- Active enrollment status through the completion of the internship.
- At least 60 credit hours completed by the start of the session is preferred.
- Experience with mechanical design and modeling software like CREO, ANSYS, or MATLAB is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office is preferred.
- Prior internship, co-op, or work experience with RTX is a plus.
