About the role#
Raytheon is looking for a Mechanical Engineering Intern to join the Accelerated Learning and Rapid Prototyping section. This team serves as a service organization to support hardware development through polymer additive manufacturing, 3D laser scanning, and small unmanned aerial systems. You will work on-site in Tewksbury, Massachusetts, during the summer of 2027.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with engineers to design, develop, and build rapid prototypes.
- Work within a small team on product development, drawing generation, drawing release, and change incorporation.
- Perform hardware reverse engineering and 3D documentation.
- Conduct 3D laser scanning to support hardware measurement and inspection.
- Use engineering tools, Adobe, and the Microsoft Office suite for design and documentation support.
- Train on and apply Raytheon processes, procedures, and internal tools including CREO and the Product Data Management system.
- Participate in training for polymer additive manufacturing and small unmanned aerial systems.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelors or graduate degree program in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, continuing through the end of the internship.
- Experience with CAD tools such as CREO or equivalent software.
- Experience delivering verbal or written presentations.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government Secret security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
- Preferred experience includes previous engineering projects or internships, additive manufacturing, 3D scanning, and unmanned aerial systems.

- Compensation: The salary range for this position is 37,000 USD to 82,000 USD.
