About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027 based in Augusta, Georgia. You will work alongside experienced professionals on real projects to build your skills and gain hands-on experience in the aviation and aerospace component manufacturing industry.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the design and development of mechanical and electrical systems, including vehicle frames, steering, suspension, and electrical harnesses.
- Meet project timelines and complete tasks according to the schedule.
- Create, review, and revise engineering design standards and functional specifications.
- Design packaging layouts.
- Create and analyze plans for product validation and test products.
- Perform tolerance studies on assemblies and components.
- Develop and release assembly drawings, engineering components, and vehicle bills of material.
- Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) to drawings.
- Document and resolve design issues identified during testing.
- Participate in cross-functional design reviews and assessments for Design for Assembly (DFA) and Design for Manufacturing (DFM).
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is preferred.
- Experience with CAD, Matlab, and programming languages like Visual Basic is preferred.
