About the role#
We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer Co-op to join our Integrated Substation Solutions team. You will work with our Design, Manufacturing, and Engineering teams at our facility in Iron Mountain, Michigan. This is a paid, full-time position for the Winter 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with Project Management and Drafting to design products.
- Create standard drawings for production.
- Assist with design verification testing, reporting, and documentation.
- Provide manufacturing support for specific production areas or customers.
- Help implement design changes and share requirements with relevant groups.
- Identify ways to improve existing products.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- Completion of at least four semesters is preferred.
- Experience with 3D modeling software, specifically Creo, and 2D AutoCAD.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
- Knowledge of engineering mechanics, strengths of materials, welding, and manufacturing processes.
- Strong hands-on mechanical knowledge and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- A creative mindset and the ability to work well in a team.
