About the role#
This Industrial Engineering Co-Op position supports manufacturing operations for high-frequency communication radios and circuit boards. You will work on-site in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, during the Summer and Fall 2027 terms. This is a full-time, paid role requiring U.S. citizenship.
What you'll do#
- Manage manufacturing equipment, floor layouts, work sequences, and instructions.
- Conduct studies on productivity, cost control, inventory systems, and production records.
- Review products and processes to identify quality, safety, and producibility risks.
- Collaborate with design teams to implement risk-mitigation changes.
- Manage projects and independently resolve complex technical problems.
- Develop tactical plans to address daily operational challenges.
- Travel to local Iowa regional sites as needed.
What you'll need#
- Active pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or a related STEM field through the end of the co-op.
- Background in Root Cause Analysis gained through coursework, projects, or work experience.
- Prior experience in manufacturing environments is preferred.
- Experience with CAD software is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement in operations.
- Prior experience with RTX internships or co-ops is a plus.
