About the role#
This Industrial Engineering Co-Op position is a full-time, paid opportunity based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. You will work on-site to support manufacturing operations for high-frequency communication radios and circuit board production. This role requires U.S. citizenship. You will be expected to travel to local Iowa regional sites as needed.
What you'll do#
- Support manufacturing processes by managing equipment, floor layouts, work sequences, and workflow.
- Conduct studies to improve productivity, cost control, inventory management, and production record systems.
- Review products and processes to identify risks regarding quality, safety, and producibility.
- Collaborate with design teams to implement changes that mitigate identified risks.
- Manage projects or processes of moderate size.
- Solve complex, day-to-day operational problems independently.
- Develop tactical plans to address recurring production challenges.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or advanced degree program in Industrial Engineering or a related STEM field, continuing through the end of your internship term.
- Prior experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Background in root cause analysis.
- Proficiency with CAD software.
- A documented history of driving continuous improvement in manufacturing operations.
