About the role#
This Industrial Engineering Co-Op position offers hands-on experience supporting manufacturing processes for communication radios and circuit boards. You will work on-site in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, during the Winter or Summer 2027 terms. This is a full-time, paid position. Please note that U.S. citizenship is required for this role.
What you'll do#
- Manage equipment, floor layouts, work sequences, and instructions to support manufacturing workflows.
- Conduct studies focused on productivity, cost control, inventory systems, and production records.
- Review products and processes to identify quality, safety, and producibility risks.
- Collaborate with design teams to implement necessary process changes.
- Manage moderately sized projects and resolve complex problems independently.
- Develop tactical plans to address daily operational challenges.
- Travel to local Iowa regional sites as needed.
What you'll need#
- Active pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or a related STEM major.
- Background in Root Cause Analysis gained through coursework, research, or projects.
- Prior experience in manufacturing environments.
- Experience with CAD software.
- Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement in manufacturing operations.
- Prior internship, co-op, or work experience at RTX is a plus.
