About the role#
This is a full-time Industrial Engineering Co-Op position based in Melbourne, Florida. The role spans the Summer and Fall 2027 semesters. You will work on-site as part of a cross-functional team to apply manufacturing concepts and analysis tools in a production environment. This is a paid position for students currently pursuing an engineering degree.
What you'll do#
- Improve operator productivity by updating manufacturing processes.
- Design tooling to support manufacturing workflows.
- Support Lean and Six Sigma initiatives, including 5S, waste reduction, and flow improvements.
- Analyze current processes to identify cost reduction opportunities.
- Plan and design layouts for manufacturing equipment and processes.
- Develop standard work for the production area.
- Resolve day-to-day production issues.
- Apply Six Sigma tools to improve operations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelors program for Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
- A minimum of 30 credit hours earned by the start of the session.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with CAD software, specifically SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
- Must be a U.S. Person as defined by federal regulations.
