About the role#
This is a full-time co-op position focused on the design and development of display systems for commercial and military avionics. You will join a team of engineers to apply your academic knowledge to practical, hands-on engineering projects. This role requires a full-time commitment, and students are expected to take a semester off from coursework to participate.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with engineers to develop display technology for avionics applications.
- Address technical challenges using problem-solving skills in a hands-on environment.
- Create or update product designs and development processes.
- Gain experience with display technologies, optical measurements, and industry standards.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree program in Computer, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Completion of at least 60 credit hours by the start of the co-op.
- Experience working on collaborative projects and teams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to read hardware schematics and mechanical drawings.
- Familiarity with C++ or Python.
- Experience with optics and optical measurements.
- Knowledge of model-based engineering.
- Prior internship or relevant work experience.
- Must be a U.S. Person.

- Location: Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
- Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday.
- Terms: Summer 2027 and Fall 2027.
- Modality: This is an on-site position.
