About the role#
The Compressor Aerodynamics Intern will work within the compressor aero discipline at Pratt & Whitney. This role focuses on fan and compressor component aerodynamic design. You will join a team of engineers to support technical projects and improve existing capabilities.
What you'll do#
- Perform compressor aerodynamic analysis to support the design of airfoils and flow-paths.
- Support the closure of key technical issues.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to improve technical capability.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor or Advanced degree program in Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering.
- Completion of at least 60 credit hours by the start of the internship.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- Prior experience through internships, co-ops, or projects related to engineering analysis, design, testing, manufacturing, or systems development.
- U.S. citizenship is required for this position.
- Coursework in thermodynamics and fluid mechanics is preferred.
- Experience with heat transfer is preferred.
- Prior internship, co-op, or work experience at RTX is preferred.
