About the role#
This co-op position offers the opportunity to work alongside engineers on advanced manufacturing projects. You will contribute to the development of factory systems while gaining hands-on experience in the aerospace industry.
What you'll do#
- Take ownership of specific project tasks, managing your time and resources to reach milestones.
- Plan and implement automation capital projects.
- Research, test, and evaluate new technologies to improve productivity and quality on the shop floor.
- Provide engineering guidance to optimize equipment use and manufacturing techniques.
- Integrate automation solutions into existing factory systems to improve production processes.
- Implement Smart Factory technologies and add digital data acquisition to legacy test equipment.
- Analyze manufacturing data and create dashboards to display metrics for operations teams.
What you'll need#
- Active pursuit of a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Systems, or Manufacturing Engineering.
- Completion of at least 30 credit hours before the start of the term.
- A solid understanding of engineering principles.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Lean principles, and concepts.
- Experience with presentations and design software like SolidWorks or Siemens NX.
- A minimum 3.0 GPA is preferred.
- Knowledge of control systems and coding, such as Ignition, LabVIEW, MATLAB, or Ladder Logic.
- Experience with data acquisition equipment and controllers like cDAQ or PLCs.
- Ability to analyze test data, design testing processes, and perform gage R&R.
- Familiarity with 3D modeling, laser cutting, and vision systems.
- Certifications in robotics, LabVIEW, or PLCs are preferred.

- Terms: Summer 2027 and Fall 2027.
