About the role#
This co-op position offers the opportunity to work with a team of engineers on advanced manufacturing projects. You will gain exposure to the aerospace industry while solving real-world engineering challenges alongside cross-functional teams. This is a full-time, paid position based in Burnsville, Minnesota. Please note that U.S. citizenship is required for this role.
What you'll do#
- Manage project tasks, resources, and timelines to meet specific goals.
- Plan and implement automation capital projects.
- Research, test, and evaluate new technologies to improve productivity and quality.
- Provide engineering guidance to optimize manufacturing techniques and equipment use.
- Integrate automation solutions into factory systems.
- Improve production processes and implement Smart Factory technologies.
- Add digital data acquisition to legacy test equipment.
- Analyze manufacturing data and create dashboards to display operational metrics.
What you'll need#
- Active pursuit of a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Systems, or Manufacturing Engineering.
- Completion of at least 30 credit hours before the start of the term.
- A solid understanding of engineering principles.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Lean principles, and concepts.
- Experience delivering presentations and using design software like SolidWorks or Siemens NX.
- A minimum 3.0 GPA is preferred.
- Knowledge of control systems and coding, such as Ignition, LabVIEW, MATLAB, or Ladder Logic.
- Experience with data acquisition equipment and controllers like cDAQ or PLCs.
- Ability to analyze test data, design testing processes, and perform gage R&R.
- Familiarity with 3D modeling, laser cutting, and vision systems.
- Preferred certifications in robotics, LabVIEW, or PLCs.
