About the role#
Radiant is hiring a Reliability & Quality Intern to join our Engineering Research & Development team in El Segundo. You will work on the supplier qualification process and help build out our quality documentation systems. This role is a full-time, paid internship for the Summer 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Manage the end-to-end supplier qualification process, including pre-assessments, capability reviews, and audit execution.
- Update and expand quality program documentation, such as the Supplier Quality Manual and commodity-specific requirements.
- Identify process gaps and work with suppliers to resolve them.
- Define acceptance criteria for various items and quality levels.
- Set purchase order requirements regarding certifications, material traceability, and compliance.
- Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and materials teams to turn technical specifications into supplier-facing quality requirements.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a BS or MS program for Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Materials Science, Supply Chain, Quality, or a related field.
- Experience drafting or owning quality program documentation.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Interest in supplier quality, development, or reliability engineering.
Location & details#
- This position is based 100% on-site at our headquarters in El Segundo, California.
- This role involves access to technology subject to U.S. export controls. Offers are contingent on the applicant's ability to comply with these regulations.

Radiant produces portable nuclear microreactors. The company is based in El Segundo, California and employs between 51 and 200 people. It was founded in 2020. The firm is currently developing a 1 MW failsafe microreactor known as Kaleidos.
