About the role#
Radiant is hiring a Software Engineer Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid position based at our headquarters in El Segundo, California. You will work on-site to help us develop tools for our nuclear microreactor projects.
What you'll do#
- Build tooling to support various simulation software packages.
- Develop internal software products that assist with simulation and the analysis of results.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a BS or MS in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Controls Systems Engineering, or a related field.
- Familiarity with object-oriented programming languages like Python, C++, or C#.
- Basic knowledge of software development practices and Git.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Interest in software testing or simulation tools.
- Passion for hardware, physics, or electrical engineering is a plus.
- Familiarity with design patterns or distributed software development is helpful.

- This role is located in El Segundo, CA.
- The position is 100% on-site.
- This role involves technology subject to U.S. export controls, and any offer is contingent upon your ability to comply with these regulations.

Radiant produces portable nuclear microreactors. The company is based in El Segundo, California and employs between 51 and 200 people. It was founded in 2020. The firm is currently developing a 1 MW failsafe microreactor known as Kaleidos.
