About the role#
Radiant is hiring a Mechanical Engineer Intern for the Summer 2027 term. You will join our team in El Segundo to help build portable nuclear microreactors. This is a full-time, on-site position.
What you'll do#
- Contribute to the design, analysis, and testing of our microreactor.
- Take ownership of deliverables from concept through build and validation.
- Collaborate across disciplines to integrate designs and resolve technical challenges.
- Support system-level testing, troubleshooting, and design iteration.
- Communicate results through design reviews, technical reports, and presentations.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Strong foundation in engineering first principles, such as thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, statics, dynamics, and strength of materials.
- Hands-on experience in design and build through projects, research, labs, or internships.
- Proficiency with engineering tools like CAD, analysis software, and lab instrumentation.

- This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship.
