About the role#
Aalo Atomics is hiring a Mechanical Engineering Intern for the summer of 2027. You will work on-site in Idaho Falls to support our nuclear energy projects. This is a full-time, paid internship.
What you'll do#
You will help design and analyze mechanical systems for nuclear applications. Your work involves running simulations to test for safety and reliability. You will also work with cross-functional teams to build prototypes and run tests. Part of the role includes writing reports, creating technical drawings, and preparing presentations. You will contribute to projects aimed at improving the efficiency and performance of nuclear systems.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or recent completion of a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Knowledge of thermodynamics, materials science, and mechanical systems.
- Experience using CAD software and simulation tools.
- Ability to solve problems and a desire to learn new things.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team.
- Interest in clean energy and technical innovation.
