About the role#
As a Student Nurse Tech-PCT on the Neuroscience & Stroke Unit, you provide direct care to patients and their families. You work under the direction of a Registered Nurse to ensure high-quality care. This role involves maintaining clear communication with your team regarding patient status, activities, and observations.
What you'll do#
- Provide total hygiene care, including skin care, bathing, and toileting.
- Assist patients with ambulation and transport.
- Help patients with feeding and record their intake.
- Respond to call lights and patient requests promptly.
- Document vital signs and report changes in patient status to the RN.
- Perform point of care testing as trained and delegated.
- Provide comfort measures and non-pharmacological pain management.
- Maintain a clean working environment and help stock supplies.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited Registered Nursing program.
- Completed Nursing Fundamentals coursework, verified by transcript.
- AHA Healthcare Providers BLS Certification, either prior to hire or completed during orientation.
- Knowledge of human growth and development.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer relation skills.
