About the role#
As a Student Nurse Tech, you will work under the direction of a Registered Nurse to provide direct care to patients and their families. You will contribute to the quality of patient care by assisting with daily needs, documenting vital signs, and maintaining a clean environment. This role requires clear communication with your nursing team regarding patient status and activities performed.
What you'll do#
- Provide total hygiene care, including bathing and skin care.
- Assist patients with ambulation, transport, and feeding.
- Document vital signs and record food or fluid intake.
- Respond to call lights and requests from patients and families.
- Perform point of care testing as delegated by the RN.
- Provide non-pharmacological pain management and comfort measures.
- Maintain a clean working environment and help stock supplies.
- Ensure patient information remains confidential.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited Registered Nursing program.
- Completion of Nursing Fundamentals coursework, verified by transcript.
- AHA Healthcare Providers BLS certification.
- Ability to demonstrate knowledge of human growth and development.
