About the role#
As a Student Nurse in the ICU Medical department, you will work under the direction of a Registered Nurse to provide direct care to patients and their families. This role focuses on supporting the health care team by maintaining a clean environment, ensuring patient comfort, and assisting with daily tasks. You will gain practical experience in a hospital setting while contributing to the quality of patient care.
What you'll do#
- Provide total hygiene care, including skin care, bathing, and toileting.
- Assist patients with ambulation and transport.
- Help with feeding patients and record the amounts consumed.
- Respond to call lights and requests from patients or families.
- Document vital signs and inform the RN of any changes in patient status.
- Perform point of care testing as trained and delegated by an RN.
- Provide and document compassionate comfort and non-pharmacological pain management.
- Maintain a neat and clean patient environment and assist with stocking supplies.
- Ensure the confidentiality of all patient information.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited Registered Nursing program.
- Completion of Nursing Fundamentals coursework, verified by a transcript.
- AHA Healthcare Providers BLS Certification, obtained prior to hire or during orientation.
- Ability to demonstrate knowledge of human growth and development.

- This position is located in Seneca, South Carolina, at Oconee Memorial Hospital.
- This is a part-time, on-site role with variable shifts.
- This position is paid.
