About the role#
The Clinical Assistant Program is a 10-week paid externship designed for nursing students. You will work alongside Magnet-recognized nursing staff to gain exposure to oncology and develop core clinical skills. The program begins May 27, 2027, and operates on a full-time schedule with 10- and 12-hour day shifts, including weekend rotations as needed.
What you'll do#
- Participate in an oncology clinical and classroom orientation program.
- Work in various units including Med/Surg Inpatient, Pediatrics, Critical Care, Ambulatory Care, Perioperative Units, or the Operating Room.
- Collaborate with nursing staff in a clinical setting.
- Engage in clinical observation days.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited BS, BA, or Associate’s Nursing Program.
- Completion of at least two clinical semesters, including one semester in Med/Surg Nursing.
- Active BCLS or BLS Certification.
- An expected graduation date of Winter 2027, Spring 2028, or Summer 2028.
