About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern at Prisma Health, you will assist pharmacists in providing pharmaceutical care to patients. You will handle tasks consistent with your intern certification and perform specialized duties that support medication preparation and distribution. This is a part-time, on-site role based in Greenville, South Carolina.
What you'll do#
- Obtain supplies and prepare or label drug orders under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
- Calculate and compound aliquot doses.
- Distribute and transport medications to patient care areas.
- Monitor inventory levels, stock shelves, and maintain clean work areas.
- Maintain all required documentation and records.
- Receive or initiate verbal medication orders when authorized by your supervising pharmacist.
- Recommend improvements for procedures, guidelines, and training.
- Train and participate in the instruction of departmental employees and students.
- Act as a steward of institutional resources.
What you'll need#
- Current registration with the South Carolina Board of Pharmacy as a pharmacy intern.
- Completion of a South Carolina Board of Pharmacy approved technician course OR current enrollment or letter of acceptance in an accredited professional academic pharmacy program.
- Satisfactory academic progress in your pharmacy program.
- Knowledge of national, state, and corporate regulations and standards.
- Familiarity with medical and pharmacy terminology.
- Strong mathematical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in team settings and handle urgent or stressful situations.
