About the role#
Pratt & Whitney is hiring a Mechanical Engineering Intern for the Hot Section Engineering, Turbine Airfoils team for Summer 2027. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position based in East Hartford, Connecticut. You will work with experienced engineers to solve mechanical problems and support the development of turbine hardware.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with the engineering team to resolve complex mechanical engineering problems with supervisor oversight.
- Provide design intent to the Product Definition team for the creation of drawings and models.
- Generate hardware design solutions to meet test engine objectives and support on-schedule delivery.
- Engage with Operations to address production issues and evaluate hardware nonconformances.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree program in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
- Completion of at least 30 credit hours by the start of the internship.
- A minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA.
- Experience using CAD software.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- U.S. citizenship is required to access necessary systems.
