About the role#
Sundt Construction is looking for an intern to join the SW Building Group in Tempe, Arizona. This is a full-time, paid position for students currently pursuing a degree in Civil, Mechanical, Industrial, or Environmental Engineering, Architecture, or Business Administration. You will gain experience on active construction projects while working alongside our team.
What you'll do#
- Assist with project record keeping, cost control, and submittal logging.
- Prepare quantity take-offs and coordinate with vendors and subcontractors for proposals.
- Attend bid openings and conferences to take notes and complete necessary forms.
- Support field operations by assisting with surveying, testing, and sample collection.
- Observe and report on meetings and site tours.
- Perform tasks as a helper or technician assistant as needed.
- Adhere to all safety standards, including the use of required personal protective equipment.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a four-year Construction Management or Engineering program.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- A strong interest in a career as a builder.
- Curiosity, a willingness to ask questions, and a readiness to take on new challenges.
- The ability to perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, and handling objects throughout a shift.
