About the role#
Hanson Professional Services Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern for our Houston office during the summer of 2027. You will work alongside experienced engineers and designers on projects involving HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for new construction and renovations. This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship.
What you'll do#
- Support engineering staff in the execution of project deliverables.
- Assist with engineering analyses, calculations, and technical documentation.
- Participate in project meetings and coordination activities.
- Observe and contribute to the design process from concept through construction.
- Gain exposure to client service, project management, and field activities.
- Travel to project sites or client locations as needed.
What you'll need#
- Active pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
- Completion of at least your sophomore year prior to the start of the internship is preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Interest in HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and building systems design.
- A valid driver's license.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills along with analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.
