About the role#
EXP is seeking a Mechanical Co-Op to join our team in Raleigh, North Carolina for the Summer 2026 term. This is a full-time, paid position where you will support our Mechanical team on local projects that serve the community. You will work alongside professional engineers to gain hands-on experience in the HVAC consulting industry, from initial design to construction observation.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with engineers to deliver accurate project results on schedule.
- Generate drawings from engineer markups using REVIT.
- Utilize HVAC load calculation software to support project requirements.
- Conduct research on codes, references, and standards to assist the engineering team.
- Perform handwritten calculations and other assigned engineering tasks.
- Participate in site investigations to understand real-world engineering applications.
- Observe the construction process of projects you helped design.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as at least a sophomore in an accredited Bachelor’s degree program in Mechanical Engineering.
- Demonstrated fluency in engineering problem-solving.
- A strong interest in the HVAC consulting industry.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Experience or understanding of CAD and 3D modeling software.
- Strong communication skills, organizational habits, and a self-starting, results-oriented approach.
