About the role#
EXP is hiring a Mechanical Co-Op for the Summer 2026 term. This position is based in our Raleigh, North Carolina office. You will work directly with our mechanical engineering team on local projects that serve the community.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with engineers to finish project tasks accurately and on time.
- Create drawings from engineer markups using REVIT.
- Run HVAC load calculation software.
- Research codes, standards, and technical references.
- Perform site investigations with professional engineers to see real-world applications.
- Observe construction progress on projects you helped design.
- Complete handwritten calculations and other assigned engineering tasks.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as at least a sophomore in an accredited Bachelor of Science program in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience or understanding of CAD or 3-D software.
- Fluency in engineering problem solving.
- Interest in the HVAC consulting industry.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong communication skills and an organized approach to daily work.
