About the role#
This internship offers an opportunity to work within our Aviation Civil Engineering discipline. You will support the development and maintenance of airport facilities, including airfield features, pavement design, and site grading. You will work under the supervision of a Professional Engineer to gain hands-on experience in transportation planning and engineering.
What you'll do#
- Prepare construction documents, including plans, material specifications, and cost estimates.
- Collect and assemble data for engineering and environmental reports.
- Perform calculations related to surveying, geotechnical testing, and pipe inspections.
- Use AutoCAD and Civil3D for design and modeling tasks.
- Conduct field investigations and provide survey assistance to gather site data.
- Document construction operations and prepare technical memoranda or reports.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in an ABET-accredited civil engineering program.
- Completion of your junior year at a 4-year college or university.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil3D, or GIS.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Solid written and oral communication skills.
