About the role#
This internship offers an opportunity to work within our Roadway Engineering discipline. You will assist in planning, designing, and preparing construction documents for rural and urban roadways, freeways, and interstates. You will work under the supervision of a licensed Professional Engineer to support projects for local, state, and private clients.
What you'll do#
- Prepare plans, designs, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Gather data for engineering or environmental reports and studies.
- Perform or review calculations related to geometrics and transportation engineering.
- Use software such as MicroStation/OpenRoads Designer or AutoCAD/Civil3D to create 3D models of improvements.
- Conduct field investigations and provide survey assistance.
- Document construction operations and maintain project records.
- Write memoranda and general reports while attending project meetings.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in an ABET-accredited civil engineering program.
- Completion of your sophomore year of college.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- A valid driver license.

- Location: St. Louis, Missouri.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Full-time.
- Compensation: $21 to $26 per hour for undergraduates and $30 to $40 per hour for postgraduates.
- Term: Rolling.
