About the role#
This internship offers hands-on experience working with structural engineers on infrastructure and facility projects. You will join project teams, contribute to engineering assignments, and build technical and professional skills. This is a full-time, paid position for Summer 2027.
What you'll do#
- Assist engineers with structural analysis and design calculations.
- Help prepare engineering reports, technical documents, and plan production.
- Use industry-standard engineering software and tools.
- Review plans, specifications, and construction documents.
- Participate in project meetings and coordination activities.
- Research and gather technical information for project development.
- Assist with field investigations, site visits, and construction observations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on transportation, aviation, water, industrial, and municipal projects.
- Build professional relationships through networking events, training, and intern development activities.
What you'll need#
- Actively pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis, Architectural Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Completed your junior year or at least 60 credit hours toward your degree.
- Successful completion of structural engineering coursework.
- Experience with structural analysis and design software.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- A valid driver's license and the ability to travel occasionally.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
