About the role#
IMEG is hiring a Structural Engineering Intern for a 10-12 week program during Summer 2027. You will work with experienced engineers on structural systems for commercial and institutional projects. This is a paid, full-time position that offers hands-on experience with analysis, design, and site observations.
What you'll do#
- Assist with structural design tasks for discipline systems.
- Research project information and identify relevant resources.
- Support client relations and maintain project design notebooks.
- Coordinate design activities and schedules with architectural, electrical, mechanical, and technology partners.
- Document design decisions, meetings, and project progress.
- Review project documents for accuracy and completeness.
- Help prepare and issue addendum information.
- Conduct periodic job site observations.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least 2 years towards a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering.
- Strong interest in design consulting.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Skills in AutoCAD or Building Information Modeling (BIM) software.
- Ability to communicate clearly in both oral and written formats.
- Physical ability to sit, walk, stand, and lift up to 25 pounds.
