About the role#
Hanson Professional Services Inc. is hiring for a 2027 Roadway Civil Engineering internship. This full-time, paid position offers hands-on experience in the planning, design, and documentation of rural and urban roadways, freeways, and interstates. You will work under the supervision of registered professional engineers, supporting projects for local, state, and private clients.
What you'll do#
- Prepare plans, designs, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Gather and provide data for engineering reports and studies.
- Use engineering software such as MicroStation/OpenRoads Designer and AutoCAD/Civil3D.
- Conduct field investigations to gather project information.
- Observe and document construction operations.
- Perform calculations, write memoranda, and attend project meetings.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Civil Engineering degree program.
- Completion of your sophomore year.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- A valid driver’s license.

- This internship is located in Harlingen, Texas.
- The position is on-site and full-time for the Summer 2027 term.
