About the role#
Thornton Tomasetti is seeking a Structural Engineer Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This position supports both the Structural Practice and Construction Engineering Practice, offering exposure to diverse project types including high-rise buildings, cultural institutions, sports venues, and transportation facilities. Interns work alongside professionals to gain hands-on experience in structural design and engineering solutions.
What you'll do#
- Contribute to the structural analysis, design, and detailing of steel, concrete, masonry, and timber systems.
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and other design professionals to support the delivery of coordinated designs.
- Assist in the preparation of construction documents and drawings within a BIM environment.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program pursuing a degree in civil, structural, or architectural engineering.
- A strong academic record and a demonstrated passion for structural design and engineering problem solving.
- Familiarity with industry tools such as SAP2000, ETABS, RAM, StructurePoint Software, and Revit is preferred.
