About the role#
Thornton Tomasetti is seeking a Structural Engineer Intern for the summer of 2027 to join both our Structural Practice and Construction Engineering Practice. This full-time, on-site role offers hands-on experience on diverse projects, including high-rise buildings, cultural institutions, sports venues, and complex renovations. You will work alongside professionals across multiple disciplines to develop structural design and engineering solutions.
What you'll do#
- Contribute to the structural analysis, design, and detailing of steel, concrete, masonry, and timber systems.
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and other design professionals to support the delivery of coordinated project designs.
- Assist in the preparation of construction documents and drawings within a BIM environment.
What you'll need#
- Current undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, or environmental engineering.
- Strong academic record.
- Demonstrated passion for structural design and engineering problem solving.
- Familiarity with tools such as SAP2000, ETABS, RAM, StructurePoint Software, and Revit.
