Structural Engineering Intern (Summer 2027)

About the role#

OneFourTwo Design Group is seeking a Structural Engineering Intern to join the team in Houston, Texas, for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position for students currently enrolled in a Civil Engineering degree program.

What you'll do#

• Communicate with technical drafting staff, clients, and external project team members.
• Prepare preliminary designs for clients.
• Review building codes to ensure correct implementation during design and preparation.
• Attend client meetings and coordinate with various engineering disciplines, including architects and project managers.
• Produce structural calculations for construction documents and permit submittals.
• Produce construction-ready design drawings using Revit and coordinate with all disciplines to ensure accurate alignment.

What you'll need#

• Enrollment in a Civil Engineering degree program (Graduate or Undergraduate).
• Minimum GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0.
• Excellent verbal communication skills and a strong work ethic.
• Previous construction or engineering internship or co-op experience is considered a plus.
