About the role#
The Effector Analog and Power team at Pratt and Whitney is seeking an ECAD Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This position focuses on the design and development of printed circuit boards for aerospace applications. You will work on-site in Tucson, Arizona, collaborating with various engineering disciplines to support product development.
What you'll do#
- Manage Printed Circuit Board (PCB) designs from initial concept through to the manufacturing phase.
- Create documentation including PCB, Circuit Card Assembly (CCA), and schematic drawings.
- Perform schematic capture, component placement, and trace routing.
- Generate Gerber and ODB++ files for production.
- Work on full designs, re-spins, drawing updates, and process improvement projects.
- Interface daily with electrical, mechanical, component, test, and producibility engineering teams to ensure design requirements are met.
- Utilize Siemens Xpedition Enterprise and DownStream Technologies BluePrint-PCB software.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or Industrial Engineering.
- Completion of at least 30 credit hours by the start of the internship.
- U.S. citizenship is required to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher is desired.
- Familiarity with board layout, circuit design, and manufacturing processes is a plus.
