About the role#
The Plant Engineering Intern works with the Plant Manager and Maintenance Manager to improve plant operations and run time. You will troubleshoot process needs to keep production levels steady and help build predictive and preventative maintenance programs. This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027 based on-site in Corning, Iowa.
What you'll do#
- Troubleshoot and identify process needs to maintain production levels.
- Assist in the development of predictive and preventative maintenance programs.
- Work with the maintenance department and outside vendors to develop preventative maintenance schedules, including identifying necessary equipment and inspection frequencies.
- Collaborate with the management team to strengthen and develop plant operating procedures.
- Maintain project confidentiality and support a culture of safe behavior and environmental compliance.
What you'll need#
- Junior or Senior-level student enrolled full-time at an accredited 4-year college or university.
- Pursuing a degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Agricultural Engineering.
- Ability to work a variety of shifts for a minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Knowledge of the basics of the Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn new software.
- Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting up to 60 pounds, climbing stairs and ladders, and working in various plant conditions including high noise levels or extreme temperatures.
