About the role#
The CAD Drafter Intern develops 2D and 3D CAD models, drawings, and design documents. You will work under the guidance of experienced drafters, designers, and engineers to create construction documents for field use. This is a full-time, on-site internship located in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
What you'll do#
- Create and modify 2D and 3D CAD drawings and models.
- Produce assembly, erection, fabrication, and detail drawings.
- Maintain CAD files and drawings according to office standards and procedures.
- Read and interpret design drawings and equipment data sheets.
- Ensure all work meets safety, budget, and schedule requirements.
- Manage files using Windows Explorer.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completed CAD drafting coursework or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD-based drafting systems.
- Familiarity with the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively.
- Strong organization and time management skills.

- Physical Requirements: This role involves sitting at a computer for most of the day, but requires the ability to walk two or more miles, climb stairs and ladders, lift up to 60 pounds, and work in various temperatures and environments while wearing required safety gear.
