About the role#
The Plant Engineering Intern works with the Plant Manager and Maintenance Manager to improve plant efficiency and run time. This is a paid, full-time, on-site position for Summer 2027 based in Gowrie, Iowa. You will gain hands-on experience in bioprocessing operations while supporting our engineering and maintenance teams.
What you'll do#
- Troubleshoot and identify process needs to maintain production levels.
- Assist in the development of predictive and preventative maintenance programs, including determining equipment, tools, and inspection frequencies.
- Compile and analyze data related to plant operations.
- Work with management to strengthen and develop plant operating procedures.
- Foster a culture of safe behavior and environmental compliance.
- Collaborate with the maintenance department and outside vendors.
What you'll need#
- Junior or Senior-level student enrolled full-time at an accredited 4-year college or university.
- Pursuing a degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Agriculture.
- Minimum of 40 hours per week availability.
- Ability to work a variety of shifts.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
