About the role#
The Plant Engineering Intern works with the Plant Manager and Maintenance Manager to improve plant efficiency and optimize run time. This position focuses on troubleshooting process needs, maintaining production levels, and refining predictive and preventative maintenance programs.
What you'll do#
- Identify and troubleshoot process issues to keep production on track.
- Assist in the development of predictive and preventative maintenance programs, including determining equipment needs and inspection frequencies.
- Work alongside the maintenance department and outside vendors to support maintenance initiatives.
- Collaborate with the management team to strengthen and develop plant operating procedures.
- Compile and analyze data related to daily plant operations.
- Maintain project confidentiality and support a culture of safety and environmental compliance.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a Junior or Senior at an accredited 4-year college or university.
- Pursuing a degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Agricultural Engineering.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to work a minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 60 pounds, climbing stairs and ladders, and working in various weather conditions or confined spaces.
